What to Expect?
The age old question is: How big will my Poodle puppy be when full grown? This, of course, will vary from puppy to puppy. However, I am posting some information that can help you to speculate all you wish as to how big any of my puppies will be
At eight weeks we post the size. There are no weight restrictions so weight is not posted. Weight will vary at this point as to when they ate, how fast they digested, etc.
We do post height: measured from the ground up to the top of the withers or shoulder blades. And we post the measurement from point of chest to point of rump. (We strive to breed the AKC standard of a square:
Proportion To insure the desirable squarely built appearance, the length of body measured from the breastbone to the point of the rump approximates the height from the highest point of the shoulders to the ground.)
A Standard Poodle is over 15 inches. Our Poodles are from 21 inches to 25 inches.
Height Chart for Standard Poodles
AGE IN MONTHS | HEIGHT IN INCHES |
8 Weeks | 12 – 13 inches |
3 Months | 14 – 15 inches |
4 Months | 18 – 19 inches |
6 Months | 21 – 23 inches |
24 Months | 24 – 27 inches |
Please Note:
- Standard Poodles can take up to 24 months to finish growing.
- If the puppy measures less than the 12 or 13 inches at 8 weeks than it probably will be less than the 24 – 27 inches.
- Please realize that I put this together to just give you an idea of finishing size.
